Women Cops in America Who Died on Duty

Inspired by the Memorial Fund's journals on more than 200 women killed in the law enforcement services, I want to make my readers aware of the women cops in the United States who died on duty making our lives safer. The names of Deputy Sheriff Maria Cecillia Rose, Detective Vicky Armel, Deputy Elizabeth Edwards, Officer Erin S. Frasier, Deputy Sheriff Margena Silvia Nunez, Officer Mary F. Smith and many more police officers who died on duty are present in the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. These 216 women officers remind us how valuable their courageous deeds are to each one of us.

The first women cop to be killed in the line of duty was Anna Hart, a correctional officer. Her name is carved in the stone of the Law Enforcement Memorial. Women who choose profession of a cop do understand the stakes involved, but their passion and strength to lead a purposeful life surpass all the hurdles that could make them rethink. Let's pray that their souls rest in peace, the women officers who lived and died to give us security and peace.

Women in law enforcement do not get the credit they deserve. In fact, from my perspective, our society gives way too much awards and credit to actors and musicians, while the civil service workers get underpaid.

Yeah, women deserve more credit for being police officers, since we already teach our kids and run the household most of the time.
